I live on a small farm in East Tennessee where I am surrounded by the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. My husband and I share this peaceful haven with a small flock of chickens and turkeys as well as a small herd of very sweet dwarf Nigerian and Pygmy goats. Every piece at BlackBerry Lane Mercantile starts with something old — an antique quilt, a worn grain sack, a scrap of vintage wool — and becomes something you'll treasure in your home.
I'm Tracy, and I've been drawn to primitive Americana and folk art for as long as I can remember. There's something about the imperfections in handstitched quilts and the faded stripes of old grain sacks that tells a story no new fabric ever could. I rescue these materials and give them a second life as pillows, table runners, banners, and wall hangings made entirely by hand. I have been a professional textile artist and crafter for over 30 years working in primitive and vintage inspired creations of wool, needlework, wood and upcycling old finds into new creations. Within the shop you will find handmade goods, unique curated pieces, and vintage and antique finds. I genuinely love to create handmade home decor pieces to share with others and feel exceptionally blessed that I get to do what I love for a living.
